Gas Central Heating

10 Property Services Limited in Swindon, Wiltshire can offer gas boiler replacements to fully new designed and installed systems. We can offer the latest high efficiency boilers, controls systems and a wide selection of radiators, towel rails and kick space heaters.
All new gas boilers are A' Rated appliances this basically means that they convert 90% + of the fuel that they burn into heat, for heating your home and your hot water. Now some of you out there reading this may have a G' Rated appliance in your home. This type of appliance would be lucky to convert 72% of the fuel it burnt into heat energy. At this point it would be easy to try and seduce you with fuel saving figures (££££) on your current bill, but I would like to keep this very simple.
For example a modern A' Rated condensing gas appliance (boiler) situated by the side of your wasteful G'Rated appliance, I would simply ask you to note that on the A'rated appliance the flue and the gasses that emit from it are cool compared to your wasteful appliance where the flue could be so hot it would take off your skin and requires a guard around it to protect you. Think about this for a moment..... you are proably paying an expensive fuel bill.......but your wasteful appliance is allowing at least 20% (compared to a modern A' Rated appliance) to heat the planet and not your home.

Why not check out your appliance for efficiency here http://www.sedbuk.com/cgi-local/searchpg.cgi
(You will need some details from your appliance i.e. Make, Model, where it is mounted, what flue it has).

If you intend to have any work carried out on gas fittings, gas appliances, gas appliance flues or gas appliance ventilation then please follow the Gas Safe information provided below.

Gas Safe Register

Gas Safe Register is the official list of gas engineers who are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances. By law, all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register. It replaced CORGI.

All Gas Safe registered engineers carry a Gas Safe Register ID card. Before any gas work is carried out always check the card and make sure the engineer is qualified for the work you need doing.

Badly fitted and poorly serviced appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas. You can’t see it, taste it or smell it, but it can kill quickly with no warning.

Protect yourself from the dangers by following these simple steps:

-          Only use a Gas Safe registered engineer to fit, fix or service your appliances

-       Get your gas appliances regularly serviced and safety checked every year

-       Fit an audible carbon monoxide alarm

-       Check for warning signs such as lazy yellow flames or black marks or stains around the appliance.

-       Know the six main signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning – headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, collapse and loss of consciousness.

Always ask for a Gas Safe registered engineer and always ask to see their ID card. If you suspect anyone to be working illegally report them to us. If you have had gas work done in your property in the last six months, you can nominate it for a free gas safety inspection. For more information and to find and check an engineer go to www.GasSafeRegister.co.uk or call 0800 408 5500. Better Gas Safe than sorry.

Dangers of D.I.Y.

Putting up a couple of shelves is one thing, but trying a bit of DIY on your plumbing or heating system can not only be dangerous and expensive, but could also drop you in hot water with the law!  Many people are happy to do minor jobs like changing a tap washer but for anything else you are best to leave it in the hands of the professionals. If you do not know 100% what you are doing, DIY interference with plumbing and heating systems can result in serious damage, expensive repair bills and potential health hazards.

The DIY householder is subject to the same regulations and controls as the professional plumber and everything connected to water supply has to comply with statutory requirements. Minimum standards for sanitary plumbing and drainage installations are laid down by law in the interest of public health and safety. Contravention can lead to prosecution and the possible imposition of substantial fines.

Don't take the risk of endangering your property, your own or your family's health or risk breaking the law. For your plumbing and heating problems always call 10 Property Services Ltd. in Swindon, Wiltshire.
